Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly Review

As an oily skinned girl, I find a lot of moisturisers are too rich and creamy for my skin. They can make my skin feel extra oily, and sometimes break me out. So I was on the lookout for a daily moisturiser that could keep my skin hydrated throughout the day without that heavy cream feeling. And this, if I may be so bold to say, is my Holy Grail.

What do Indeed Labs have to say about it?

"Hydraluron moisture jelly is the ultimate daily use topical moisturiser with a unique jelly formula that will help leave skin soft, supple and more radiant than ever before. NEW hydraluron moisture jelly, helps provide both instant and long-term locked-in moisture to the skin through a sophisticated complex of 5 key actives, which support the natural protective layer of your skin, helping to restore moisture levels and defending against future loss. With each use skin feels softer, smoother and plumper. Within this unique formulation is PatcH2O™, a micro network moisture complex, which saturates the skin with fast-absorbing ingredients and powerful Fucogel®, which helps to form a protective film on the skin’s surface to defend against moisture evaporation.  At the same time hyaluronic acid works to help improve hydration levels and stimulate collagen production, leaving skin plump and with improved texture." I picked this up from Boots, and actually loved it on first application. An expansion of the Hydraluron range (the original Hydraluron serum being something that I already own and love), this moisturiser utilises Hyaluronic Acid as it's main ingredient. Now, I know what you may be thinking, because I thought it too - a moisturising acid, WTF?

*dons lab coat and glasses in an effort to appear scientific and intelligent. Fails.*

But, Hyaluronic Acid is actually found naturally in the human body - this is one of the most water loving molecules in existence, that binds with 1000 times its own weight in moisture for a serious hydration kick. It is found in it's highest concentration in our skin, where it works in combination with collagen to keep skin firm and moisturised. Scientific studies have shown that Hyaluronic Acid improves skin hydration, stimulates the production of collagen in skin, works as an antioxidant, and helps to maintain skin elasticity.

When we are young, our skin is full of hyaluronic acid and so it is moisturised, plump, smooth and elastic. As we age, the production of hyaluronic acid slows down, and the skin's ability to withhold moisture decreases, so if we can help keep it topped up and as hydrated as possible, this is only a good thing.

Alright, science lesson over!

What do I think?

Unlike other ultra moisturising creams, this moisturiser is formulated as a clear gel, or jelly so, whilst being super moisturising, the texture is light and feels cooling on application,.and doesn't take long to sink into the skin at all. As a plus in the mornings, you won't have to worry about applying your makeup over this, as there is absolutely no residue left behind whatsoever to interfere with makeup application.

I think this is one that will work for all skin types - hydrating enough for dry skin without overwhelming oily skin. I have oily, blemish prone skin, and find that I can use this without any breakouts or extra oiliness. This moisturises my skin so well, but doesn't leave behind a heavy, greasy film like some creamier moisturisers have in the past. This feels really comfortable on the skin, leaving it hydrated but feeling like you haven't got anything on the skin. One thing to note is that this doesn't contain SPF, so you will have to wear a separate SPF during the day.

You get 30ml of product for the £24.99 price tag, and it comes with a handy and hygienic method of dispensing - just push down on the white top, and the product seeps out from three tiny holes in the centre. This allows the product to remain germ free, which is another plus for people with blemish prone skin. I really love the packaging - it looks clean, fresh and the pop of pink is eye catching! It's also transparant, so you can see when you're about to run out. This will last you for ages too - a pea sized amount is enough for my whole face.

I genuinely can't think of a downside to this product! The price is reasonable, even more so when you can get it on offer in Boots; the packaging is stylish; and the product has instantly become a staple in my skincare lineup.
