So, I have been crushing on the absolutely gorgeous effortless chic, grunge-glam smokey eye from the Burberry show. Today I thought I would try and recreate that look! So I went for a nude-pink lip to compliment the darker eyes. This is my go-to lipstick for that "my lips but better" shade. This is the perfect shade for me! It gives a hint of colour, but still looks really natural.
Like most people in the beauty world it seems, I picked up the February issue of Elle which came with an exclusive sample of Benefit's new Roller Lash mascara, before it went on general sale. As someone who doesn't have a large budget to potentially waste on a product I may not like, picking up samples is a great way to Try Before You Buy!
So...you may have noticed (or not!) that my blog has undergone a name change! Only a slight change but it was unfortunately necessary. Whilst I am sad to see Lip Gloss Jedi go, I love Lip Gloss Rebel just as much! I hope you all like it too.
In line with the name change on here, I have also changed my Instagram (come and follow me! @lipglossrebel) and my name on Twitter, but not my twitter handle (which remains @lipglossjedi)!

Today I was feeling a bright lip colour, so I went with this awesome matte pink: Ole Flamingo, one of the Rouge Edition Velvet collection from Bourjois. Wearing bright colours during the day really gives me a kick of confidence! I love this bright fuschia shade and the formulation makes me want to buy more of these! Matte but not drying with uber staying power, these are little gems.
As an oily skinned girl, I find a lot of moisturisers are too rich and creamy for my skin. They can make my skin feel extra oily, and sometimes break me out. So I was on the lookout for a daily moisturiser that could keep my skin hydrated throughout the day without that heavy cream feeling. And this, if I may be so bold to say, is my Holy Grail.
Well, it's time for my second Friday Lip of the Day post, and it's Friday the 13th! I actually own a black cat so I'm not a huge believer in bad luck. Today's Lip of the Day comes courtesy of Gosh, a brand that I have only recently dabbled in.
After the excitement of Christmas and New Year has faded, Valentines is a nice little pick me up! Although I don't really go overboard, I have always done a little something for Valentines Day, whether attached or single! If you're in a relationship, it's can be nice to get romantic, and do something together that you might not ordinarily. If you're not attached, I have always found that it's a brilliant excuse to get together with your mates and have a girly night in, or glam up and hit the town, and just enjoy being a single pringle.
As the name of this blog might have given away, lip products are my thing. I have more lip products than anything else in my makeup collection, and still keep buying more! So instead of the typical "Face of the Day" posts, I thought I would make use of my lip product collection, and do a "Lip of the Day" instead! I chose Friday's because the company I work for has Casual Fridays, and...well, because TGIF! So here is my very first Lip of the Day!
Since noticing that the grand old age of 25 was swiftly approaching (and is now a reality!), I had the sudden realisation that skincare should really be higher on the agenda. Prior to this, skin care and looking after my skin wasn't really on my radar. I would moisturise most days, but usually only with whatever moisturiser happened to be cheapest or on offer; I always made sure to wear sunscreen in the summer, but didn't bother in winter; I always took my makeup off before bed (something my mum instilled in me as soon as I started wearing makeup!) but only with face wipes. And I never exfoliated. You get the idea - I had good intentions, but pretty much had no clue what I was doing! So I realised that I had to up my skincare game. I read up on skincare "do's and don'ts" and started to switch up my routine, step by step.
